Participants could submit six photographs, in
colour or black and white, by 23 May 2014.
In total, 26 entries were made with 154 photo-
graphs, by photographers from Athienou, Nico-
sia, Limassol and Larnaca.

Judging Committee
The Judging Committee for the Athienou pho-
tography exhibition convened on 13 June 2014
at the offices of the Cyprus Photographic Soci-
ety in Nicosia. The five-member independent
committee graded the photographs using a spe-
cial electronic grading system.
The Committee comprised of Constantinos
Charalambous (AFIAP), Nassim Elout (EFIAP),
Harris Zevlaris (Professor of Photographic Art
Secondary Education), Elena Hadjidemetriou
(Kindergarten Teacher – Member of the Munici-
pality of Athienou’s Cultural Committee) and
Christos Theodorides (photojournalist).
The winners
The winners of the company won cash prizes.
The first prize was €200, the second €150, the
third €100, followed by three commendations
awarding €50 each. Participants could win just
one prize, so that six people in total could be
awarded. The winners were:

The Parents Association of the Public and Com-
munity Kindergarten of Athienou has the right to
use any of the images submitted for any one of
its activities, with nominal reference to the pho-
tographer. It also has the right to sell the images
on.
The six winning photographs, with 59 more cho-
sen by the judging committee, will be exhibited
until 31 August 2014 at the Athienou Photogra-
phy Exhibition and will be available for sale.
The proceeds from selling the photographs will
be used to install photovoltaic systems at the
Public and Community Kindergarten of Athie-
nou.
