Fausto Gracia believes that art has the capacity to
de-construct hegemonic situations, pathways and
different realities, since art itself is a conscious
and responsible tool driven by current social and
cultural discourses. Gracia is also interested in
creating images that allow Visually Poetic endless
interpretations re-meaning those little moments of
our daily lives. Most of his work takes place in the
public space, with the intention of generating situa-
tions, often de-contextualised, and of causing some
kind of reaction.

Theurich is a performance artist who is centrally
concernedwithmodes of nonverbal poetic encoun-
ter with strangers in public urban spaces. She takes
the tradition of site-specific art as a starting point of
departure and develops a particular social-poetical
performance practice.
In the artist’s own words: “My thesis is, that the
moment of a poetic encounter may irritate, dis-
close, or unsettle, but at the same time has the po-
tential to be a stimulus to the public space and the
residents. This moment has the power to activate,
to give shape to public places through actions and
to create space for shared human experiences.”
