P
hil Bird and Anna Georghiou presented their
latest work at Gallery Kypriaki Gonia in Lar-
naca this autumn, in their exciting joint exhibition
of paintings entitled
Imaginary Constellations and
In-between Places
.
The exhibition, which was opened by sculptor
Kikis Patsalos, was accompanied by a special per-
formance of the two artists’music as
Troubadours
Garden
and a creative arts/music workshop, which
was open to the public at the Cornaro Institute.
Anna Georghiou - Painter and Musician:
Anna called her part of the exhibition
In-Between
Places
because many of these paintings
fi
nished
in Okehampton, a small market town in Devon,
England.
Anna Georghiou holds a BA in Psychology/Phi-
losophy and an MA in Fine Art; she exhibits in-
ternationally and has work in many collections.
Her paintings depict groups of
fi
gures in a time-
less setting; offering viewers alternative possible
worlds, questioning perceived reality and em-
bracing the creative imagination.
In the words of the artist: “Honesty in Art is im-
portant to me, Art need not shock or follow super-
fi
cial hollow trends. In an age of cynicism I wish
to af
fi
rm the enduring qualities of the human spirit
and reignite the search for the Logos (the soul),
and the insightful power of the mind.”
