activities of our community, many of which are
shown on the CyBC and British Television.
Dr Criton Tomazos,
a veteran artist, who has
been actively involved in architecture, theatre,
poetry and painting. He is also an art and thea-
tre critic. Amongst other important events, he
has participated in the Florence International
Biennale and more recently in a special instal-
lation documentary exhibition in London, later
transferred to the ZKM Art and Media Centre
in Germany.
Cos Gerolemou
is a sculptor, the youngest of
the group. He started with the Royal College of
Art and was awarded a Council of Europe schol-
arship to further his studies in Pietrasanta, Italy.
He had several exhibitions and the privilege to
exhibit at the prestigious Royal Academy Sum-
mer Exhibition. He is now preparing for an exhi-
bition in the autumn of 2013 in London.
Renos Lavithis,
who came to London from Pa-
phos to study painting and followed a career in
graphics, was fortunate to be at college with the
legendary singer Freddie Mercury of “Queen”,
an inspiration for his work that followed. He
worked as an artist for the
Daily Mail
national
British newspaper group for 30 years. Works
of his are in the Zampelas collection in Nico-
sia and two of his landscapes are on permanent
show in the House of Lords collection. His solo
exhibition of 2011 was previously featured in a
Cyprus Today
publication.
This is a group of friends who meet regularly,
exchanging views, ideas and always wanting to
promote our native land culturally and artisti-
cally, by means of our specific training and vo-
cation, hoping that someday one or more of us
will honour our beloved Cyprus.
Chris Savvides, with this important exhibition
of his work, is definitely coming closer to this
dream.
