Tributes and Exhibitions at the Hambis
Printmaking Museum
A poster exhibition and retrospective of films
was presented in tribute to Piotr Dumala in the
Masters of Animation section.
Dumala, born in 1956 and a member of this
year’s International Jury committee, is a
scriptwriter and director of animated and live
action films, an illustrator and poster designer,
a professor of Film School in Lodz, Poland and
a guest teacher at Harvard University, USA and
Konstfack Art College in Sweden. He has won
over 90 awards for his film artworks, amongst
them the Grand Prix award, at numerous
festivals in Krakow, Espinho, Zagreb,
Amsterdam, Ottawa, Montreal and Cyprus.

Špela Čadež
Špela Čadež, a member of this year’s
International Jury committee, is an independent
director and producer of animated films from
Slovenia. After graduating in Graphic Design in
2002, she continued her studies at the Academy
of Media Arts in Cologne, Germany. During
her studies she made two puppet animations
that gained international recognition. These
were Mate to Measure (2004) and Lovesick
(2007). Her latest film, Boles (2013), was
awarded the Grand Prix award at the 12th
Countryside Animafest in Cyprus, has been
screened worldwide and has received more
than 40 awards, distinctions and nominations.
