he organisation Chypre Culture, a Cypriot non-
profit cultural centre open to all new trends and
challenges in the contemporary art scene, has set a
goal: to offer opportunities of expression through
positive effort to contribute to projecting Cypriot
creativity, achieved by highlighting the country’s
dynamic elements in all fields: art, literature, history,
archaeology, music, theatre, dance, architecture,
fashion, design and gastronomy. At each venture,
the chosen artists from Cyprus or abroad will relay
their personal, contemporary view on the situation
and activities in Cyprus today.
To this end, on 11 and 12 December 2012, Chypre
Culture launched the first
Pop up kiosque
in Paris,
inviting the City’s public to appreciate Cypriot cul-
ture in the form of video installations, items of inter-
est and options to participate, whilst also experienc-
ing a taste of traditional Cypriot food.
The project is the result of an initiative by Andri
Michael, art historian at the University of Amiens’
School of Fine Arts in France, and fashion designer
ErotokritosAntoniades. It is part of a series of events
by the organisation Chypre Culture, supported by
the Ministry of Education and Culture in Cyprus.
