through the barrier of the coastal area, the end-
less aquatic surface. The revelation of a hidden
underwater world is an authentic expression of
the truth behind the work of art. (epambos@

Untitled
(2012) – Metallic Installation
This installation was positioned in front of
the ancient fort; it reflected its surroundings
in fragments. On viewing the fragments, visi-
tors are inspired to raise questions about our
traditions, our history and our social evolution.

Narcissus transgression
(2012) – Mixed Media
Installation
Narcissus transgression
is an installation of a
collection of various hand mirrors from dif-
ferent parts of the world and produced during
different periods of time. All share a common
idea: all have parted ways from their owners,
for various reasons, and are now components
of a mosaic of shared personal moments. Each
item depicts lust and vanity, fetishism, narcis-
sism and materialism; each is a reference to the
myth of Narcissus and the memory of a bloom.

Philippos Philippou
In Love
(2012) – Theatrical Production
As time has gone on, the stories and myths told
in the Nea Pafos Archaeological Site mosaics
have been either displaced or tampered with. It
seems as if someone moved the mosaics to an-
other place, but continued to negotiate the same
myths, albeit from a different point of view.
Over the years, we have not only come across
multiple versions of the same myths, but we
have seen the myths compared to the truths of
today and coexisting with them. Philippou uses
different versions of the same myth to create
a series of tragicomic love stories, which were
presented to visitors to the exhibition through
live shows and music, and via video projec-
tions. (ephilippos@gmail.com)
