FemLink-Art
is a female artists’ initiative founded by artists
VéroniqueSapin (France) andC.M. Judge (USA).
The initiative’s goal is to create an international
common artwork that builds a link throughout
the world between female artists and their work.
FemLink-Art was launched in October 2005 and
since then, 145 artists from 63 countries have
been invited to take part in it.
The structural principle is simple: one artist per
country is invited to create a two-minute video
on a common topic. Between 24 and 33 videos
are included in each topic, referred to as “video-
collages”. From
FemLink-Art’s
premiere in the US
in February 2006, to December 2014, the video-
collages have been welcomed by 136 art centres,
museums, galleries, and festivals in 42 countries.
FemLink-Art’s
video art project is unprecedented,
unique both in its scope and longevity, in gathering
so many artists from around the world to create a
common artwork.
Since 2005,
FemLink-Art
has launched 9 video-
collages:
AGGRESSION (24 artists - 24 videos - 24
countries - 45 min)
FEMALE (30 artists - 30 videos - 30 countries -
