The book is the result of years of research and
can be added to Dr Papapolyviou’s collection of
books on Cypriot volunteerism. He was assisted
by PhD candidates at the University of Cyprus’
Department of History and Archaeology, Christos
K. Kyriakides and Constantina P. Constantinou,
within the framework of a programme by the Re-
search Promotion Foundation and the University
of Cyprus (February 2006 –April 2007).
The book is available at the reasonable price of
€20 and can be found at the Cyprus Veterans’As-
sociation WWII in Nicosia (contact number: 22
669269). All proceeds will be given to the “Com-
mittee for the Preparation of a Register of Cypriot
Volunteers”.
The 883-page book was issued by the Cultural
Services of the Ministry of Education and Cul-
ture and the “Committee for the Preparation of
a Register of Cypriot Volunteers”.
It includes
prologues by Minister of Education and Culture,
George Demosthenous, and the President of the
Cyprus Volunteers’ Association WWII, Loizos
Demetriou.
