Greek language, Modern Greek Studies and
Cypriot cultural tradition and creation, in Eu-
rope and elsewhere. Furthermore, to strengthen
relations between Greek Cypriot teachers, in-
tellectuals and artists and their Turkish Cypriot
counterparts, we continue to encourage meet-
ings and bi-communal events. We have also im-
plemented a program for the mutual translation
of works by distinguished writers in Greek, in
Turkish, and in other European languages.
We pay special attention to helping important
university professors from Greek and Cyp-
riot universities carry out new analytical pro-
grammes for teaching Greek language and
literature, and we continue to train teachers in
