and abroad. Her art is influenced by her long ex-
perience in costume and stage design, and the ma-
terials she chooses include threads, fabrics, pins,
wires and various metals, components which no
longer have a utilitarian value but which have ac-
crued emotional substance and artistic importance.
She had her first solo art show in 2009.
Tatiana Ferahian
was born in Lebanon in 1970
and fled to Limassol during the Lebanese Civil
War. She holds a BA in Fine Arts from Empire
State College and an MA in Liberal Studies from
the University of Denver. A well-known cartoon-
ist, her work explores local standards and the
boundaries imposed by our current cultural, reli-
gious and political milieu, with the intent of rais-
ing awareness and interest. Tatiana has exhibited
locally and has represented Cyprus in numerous
exhibitions and Biennales in Europe, Egypt, Tur-
key, Korea, China and the USA. She is currently
an art teacher at NaregArmenian Schools.
John Guevherian
was born in Ethiopia in 1948.
After graduating from the Melkonian Educational
Institute, he received his BA in Architecture from
theAmerican University of Beirut.An architect by
profession, he has distinguished himself by par-
ticipating in Pancyprian competitions and winning
several first prizes – he also designed the Arme-
nian Genocide monument in Nicosia. Guevhe-
rian’s nostalgia for his homeland is apparent in his
paintings of ancient Armenian churches, while the
Cyprus landscape and Greek mythology also in-
spire him. He maintains a steady presence in the
art world, which includes 11 solo exhibitions and
more than 30 group exhibitions. He is actively in-
volved in theArmenian community.
Sevan Malikyan
, of Armenian-Cypriot parentage,
was born in London in 1972. He received his BA
Hons in FineArts from the Bath School ofArt and
Design and is considered one of the outstanding
young artists of London, where he has exhibited
work at various venues. His extensive portfolio
demonstrates a dramatic and inventive technique
which documents sensation through the use of
colour. His work, which is rife with social and per-
sonal drama, can be found in private collections in
